ALANIS MORISSETTE "YOU OUGHTA KNOW" LYRICS

I love Alanis' music to bits, specially this song because it shaws raw emotions (jealousy, rage, anger...) The song expresses the feelings the speaker yearns to say to his beloved, but she can't and probably never will because he has broken up with her.   The events of the song is that the man finished with the speaker because of   another woman. (how quickly I was replaced). Initially the speaker found it very hard to deal with, sice she has been dumped by her boyfriend.  The speaker is jealous, especially because the man promised to love her forever. She wants to hurt the man, and childishly hopes that he is suffering when she sleeps with other men.  She feels that his new relationship is tainted, because he has already promised himself to the speaker. The speaker compares the new woman to herself, suggesting that she is still involved in the man's life.      She can´t get over him, and she wants to believe that he can´t get over her although he has definitely moved on.  It blows me away every time I hear it.
